VSS – Dynamic energy storing systems
A rotating unit comprised of flywheel, shaft and rotor held in a magnetic field supplies up to 220 kW. An internal facility generates a vacuum so that losses are reduced.
Compared with a stationary battery system, these systems have the following advantages:
- service life > 20 years
- space-saving (0.5 m2)
- efficiency > 99.8%
- 100% capacity after 20 seconds
- low-maintenance
- no special installation conditions required
- no wear parts
